Interesting if ambiguous. Is the ice starting to crack?

Which historical aspects is this Korean talking about in relationship with US and Japan?

"Historical aspects are overwhelming": only if you want them to be overwhelming.

It's the South Koreans (and the Chinese) that keep dwelling on this, no-one else in the region.

Make this man president of Korea today. China, take note of how a person uses their eyes to focus on the bigger picture.

What's sad is that people like this Mr. Lee are not praised and looked upon as potential leaders to move South Korea forward, but instead are persecuted by those stuck in the past.

They 'wonder' but as shown in their prior thought process, they (collectively) will somehow blame Japan for this current situation.
It's refreshing finally that Abe has decided not to bother with them by ignoring Korea's plea to set up a meeting with their 'prerequisites'.

I'm glad the US and Japan have a strong relationship. It will benefit both countries and it is this alliance that allowed it to be stable for the past decades. No doubt, China with its growing military might, will want to expand out (not blaming as it is natural). As a result, it will cause some instability but hopefully, nothing will end up deadly.
Hope US and Japan can work cooperatively with China and Russia regarding the stability of this region.
