We were snatched, like flowers that have been picked before they bloom. They took everything away from us. When I think back I remember only tremendous pain. We were not living as human beings.

Yu Hui-nam -- sorry, you must be mistaken. Japan swears there are no records of the Japanese military ever being directly involved with the comfort women. (Sarasm.) Seriously, anyone with an ounce of compassion feels sorrow and pity for you and the terrible pain you had to endure.

Who is Yu Hui Nam? Here is another report on her.

Japanese military set up iansho (comfort stations) in occupied areas overseas. There were no known iansho in Japan. Prostitution was not illegal in Japan in those days and Osaka had quite a number of privately run brothels. The Japanese military had no intention to set up iansho in a city where licensed brothels were readily available.
She may be lured into one of those privately run brothels by some pimps. But I think government involvement is least credible in her case.

Japan really needs to get its %^$& together wrt to the sex slave issue & WWII history in general, although it may well be too late, Japan sadly seems ABSOLUTEY determined to go down the wrong road, painful watching the sheer lunacy of it all

CH3CHO -- thanks, but i"ll take her opinion over yours. Especially since the article you site is about Abe re-opening the comfort women issue -- and we all know how objective he is on the subject.

Do so at your own risk. But believing in falsehood would contribute nothing to the better relationship between Korea and Japan.

Must be a slow news day.

Zichi,
Thanks for the information. I didn't know this (but I am only slightly surprised).
