You will be able to stay in office for a long time if you continue to keep a low profile and work in earnest.

Dont bow to pressure from white-anters around you.
Look at leaders of other countries. Illegal wars, sex scandals, corruption and extra-judicial murder cant unseat most world leaders, but in Japan, a sometimes-mistress or an illegally installed water cooler can cost you the job.

That is stupid. He should have a High Profile. He is the leader isn't he????

Sage advice, really. If your only goal is to "stay in office for a long time."

keep a low profile... means don't do anything that might make people mad, upset, change the way they feel about you, when you try and do your job ... I can go on, but pretty much NOT do your job as a leader... of course you will stay in power..... WILL THAT HAPPEN ... heck no. This new PM came into power only with a 68% approval rating... It will take, like all the other PM before this one, ONLY ONE thing that they do wrong and they will be out. Japan is stuck in a world that was around 20 years ago (with they way they run things, most of the government people are hella old and with there outdated laws or lack of common laws) This place will continue to be a country that takes 2 steps forward and 4 steps back... That is unless they change.. but we know that wont happen anytime soon.
