Japan News and Discussion
Ex-bikini model Megumi, 26, recently married musician Kenji Furuya, 29, after living together for two years. Megumi is now 3 months pregnant. Since Furuya is one of the most popular young musicians, some of their friends worry about their new married life.
“When I heard the news that Megumi was pregnant, I wondered what happened to Furuya,” says one music industry insider. “I saw him drinking at a bar with many model-like girls just after the news broke. I’m so impressed that he can enjoy nightlife even with a pregnant wife at home.”
One of Furuya’s friends says, “I often see him drinking with lots of different girls. I think girls invite other girls to parties with him. No girl would refuse such an invitation because he is so popular.”
A spokesperson for Furuya’s agent says, “We know he often has parties with friends. Some of them are blind-date parties, but everyone has a good time. We don’t think it’s a bad thing for Furuya’s image.”
The president of Megumi’s agency, who has been taking care of her since her debut, adds, “Popular artists like Furuya need to interact with many people at such parties. It helps their creativity. Drinking with girls is just part of that.”
Still, insiders caution that Megumi will need to be patient about her husband’s partying. After all, when you marry an artist, you have to share him with the public. (Translated by Taro Fujimoto)

chardk1 that's a good one thanks for the laugh. I say this marriage like most celebrity marriages around the world won't last more than a couple of years.

Unfortunate but true. Hes just married and already out partying with other women. Nothing but a pig. She should dump the loser and find herself an actual man.

She has been living with him for 2 years, and im guessing he hasnt changed his ways since she got pregnant. Maybe they have an open relationship?! That's all their business really...

It should be : "I think SHALLOW girls invite other SHALLOW girls to parties with him. No SHALLOW girl would refuse such an invitation because he is so popular."

There is not a man alive who has not been through this phase in one way or another.
You are young, like going out and drinking with friends. The fact that you got married does not mean that you never ever want to go out again, especially if you are 29. Then your wife says she is pregnant. Great you think, but the baby has not actually been born yet, so you continue to go out for drinks or hang out with friends. Then the baby is born, so you cut down on the going out, but hey, it is aspleep most of the time anyway...
Perhaps being seen in the company of young women on a regular basis is not the best thing for any married man, but I would rather have had the life of Mick Jagger than Paul McCartney any day.

This has to be the most messedup, tragic piece of news I have ever seen. A man and a woman are married, the wife is pregnant, the husband cannot stop partying around, and the wife is expected to "share him with the public"??? No wonder marriages and family are falling apart in this country!!! If this #ahem# "Man" were really one, he'd leave the partying, leave the blind dates, and go home and be with his wife. However, this, once again, is just another example of how self trumps right.
One could say that she should leave him, but at the same time, one could say she never should have gotten involved with him in the first place. Guys like this are losers.....

Guys... GROW UP! How deep and profound do you expect bikini models and J=Poop singers to be be? Was there anything "classy" in their image to start with? Garbage breeds garbage. Shi-t doesn't shine.

Cammi: Haha, great idea!
But I would have to agree with The Maniac.
Still this is not uncommon. Most Japanese men are like that once their wives get pregnant. Marriage for them is another a contract - making sure there is someone to take of them and a child to carry on their family name. Is it any wonder why educated Japanese women today have decided to remain single even into their late 30s?

She doesn't have to contend with it. Love it or leave it.
