Hahahahah
Germany, Spain, Italy, France, and England are all in the same half of the knockout bracket, starting with Spain vs. Italy
The teams in the other half of the bracket are seeing their chance to make it to the Final

It just shows a) how poor the seeding half of each grouping is for this tournament, and b) how silly it is to allow so many 3rd place teams in 4 nation groups. To finish 3rd in a group of 4 and still go through is ridiculous. Now we have the situation where Germany, Spain, Italy, and France are all in one group, and basically Belgium and Croatia in the other. The losing sem-finalist in the Germany/ Spain etc group will be feeling they should have made it to the final.

Forget Euros - catch some of the action at COPA America. Fantastic stuff.

Good to see Spain getting caught with their pants down this morning. Can't stand their style of football, reeks of arrogance. Not often I barrack for the italians but will definitely do so next week.
Agree with others, all favs on one side of the draw isnt great (especially if you support one of those sides ha!).

They cannot meet in the semifinal.
If Spain is to 3-peat, they first have to beat (most likely) Italy in the Round of 16, then likely Germany in the quarterfinals, then possibly the home team France in the semifinal, just to get to the final. That's their fault for not beating Croatia.
Belgium (not Italy) controls their own fate - by finishing the group 2nd place to Italy, Belgium goes on the other half of the bracket, avoiding all those world champions until the final.

What I meant was that the 'top-heavy' half of the draw plays each other through to, and including, the semis. The losing semi-finalist from the top-heavy half of the draw will be p'd-off that they could have had a better chance of getting to the final.
