Notice how the drug use made him worse as a tennis player (1997). -not much of an escape as he planned. Life is about working thru your problems.

Why on earth did he write that? Why on earth did he feel he had to destroy his super image with millions? I feel betrayed, disillusioned, saddened. Maybe he wanted to clear his conscience, but he could have done it in a different way.

I feel betrayed, disillusioned, saddened.

That's why it pays to never look up to professional athletes. We just think we know these people, but we don't really know anything.

You know what? I respect Andre even more for coming clean. One could be cynical and say he admitted it just to sell more books - but this guy is worth more than $100 million anyway, so he wasn't chasing more cash. Andre funds loads of charities for underpriveleged kids and he will remain an inspiration to many. Good onya, Andre.
