Amazing that he is getting $3 or 4 million per month the rest of this season and all of next season to be a roving instructor. That is about 10 times more than some active veteran players like Ichiro. Maybe the Yankees figure it evens out since they didn't have to pay him 20 or 25 million during his full season suspension in 2013.

The Yankees owe him the $21+ Million of the rest of his contract whether he plays for them or not (it's a guaranteed contract). So may as well have him do something for them for that amount of money.
