Chiyo "biker" Taikai went down after his initial bravado, which was basically grasping at straws.
He was then elevated out of the ring very easily once Asa comprehended the typical thrust strategy. Took 2 seconds.
Bulgarian boy went down soon after. He completely panicked and desperately swatted at a superior opponent but was easily gunned down by a true pro.

There is only true gladiator on the dohyo, and this is Kotooshyu. all the other participants pale infront of him, because when he is on the dohyo he looks like a statue of a Greek god or Roman gladiator. His body embodies the Greek ideal for beauty and proportion, every muscle on it is like drawn from Michelangelo, and his face is so composed. His Greek wrestling technique is superior (he is world wrestling champion) but sumo does not need technique as wrestling.

Kotooshu looks like a greek god or gladiator princess? I'm glad he gets you hot and all, but his sumo skill is dog meat compared to the top mongolian wrestlers.

Kotooshu has been a big disappointment. When he first made his mark on the Sumo scene we all expected great things from him, but he has proved to be just too inconsistent. He is built well with a long reach and he is confident, but he has not imposed himself like Asa, Hakuho or Harumafuji have. Unless Kotooshu knuckles down and works on consistency then he is just not going to make Yokozuna. Harumafuji almost certainly is on track for future Yokozuna.

Jesus, Princeska, are you living in a country where all men are ugly dwarfs or what?
If the greek wrestling technique of the guy is so great, maybe he should do greek wrestling instead of sumo. I would not miss him. He has no fighting spirit. He is probably happy that he is making money in Japan and can have all the Japanese ladies he wants, but that is all.

Kotooshu would be fine if the dohyo was a bit wider. He's always stepping out. Whereas any of the shorter Sumo-ka would still have been inside the ring after being spun around so gently by Hakuho, Too-Tall Koto always finds himself out. And you can see that "aw shucks I done it again!" look on his face each time. Baruto seems to be able to control the length of his steps but Koto is always taking these huge bounds.

Usually statues have ripped abs, not mountains of blubber.

Kotooshu may have the muscles of a Greek athlete, but they are a bit difficult to see under the requisite layers of fat that sumo wrestlers have to have if they want to reach the higher ranks. Much as I think he seems like a nice guy, his sumo isn't the most interesting to watch unfortunately. I agree with telecasterplayer- his long strides keep carrying him out of the dohyo with little effort from his opponent.

Oh, what a campaign against the star of the sumo Kotooshyu! Come on guys, he has won a tournament, he can win any time against the yokozuna, he does not do this all the time, but is this an obligation? The rule is 8 wins to keep his rank. If the rules were 15 wins, he would secure them too. When he is under threat, he always wins.

ExPrinceska - care to explain how Kotooshyu was kadoban at least twice in 2008? If he always wins when he has to, how did he end up kadoban?
