Kotooshu looked like Greek philosopher statue getting dropped to the bottom of a deep ocean once again today. The biker almost sent hakuho out with a bull charge minus the thrusts, but when the thrusting commenced he lost his footing sparing the yokozunas blushes. Asa just dominated. Gonna be tough to beat tomorrow.

hakuho will have a chance to set up a showdown for the title, if he can beat asashoryu. unlike the others, the 27 year old yokozuna will find his younger counterpart a more daunting challenge. i'd wager hakuho wins round 1 and 2 of grand champion vs. champion.

Kotooshyu has secured his kachikoshi, so yes, he is intelligent and a philosopher! Intelligent men are rare nowdays, so obviously this is a plus.

All of those muckity-mucks who said Asashoryu should retire? They can all SHUT UP! Even if he loses to Hakuho (I don't think he'll lose once! Asa's been stoked, on-fire, and it is easy to see he WANTS this Yusho!!!!), he has done far better than anyone predicted, and will be a force to reckpn with for some time ot come. Hakuho only wishes he were Asashoryu!

Hakuho only wishes he were Asashoryu!

If only he could drink and smash up his stable like Asa does, then Hakuho might be more interesting. I'd love it if Asashoryu joined K1. It would piss those JSA suits off big time.

Ah, the graceful and intelligent ozeki Kotooshu commands the ring like a benevolent prince and.. Hey! HEY! Who's that mongolian guy behind you? Look out! He's going to push you! Ohhhhhhhhhhh, Kotooshu lost again. Seriously, good thing shin-Ozeki Harumafuji got his kachikoshi.

Hakuho didn't win as much as Chiyotaikai lost. If he doesn't get a little fire going inside, he's not going to beat Asahshoryu tomorrow and force a play-off.

Last year at this time (in the US anyways), everyone was talking about the Patriots were the greatest team ever, etc, as they were undefeated.

    Then they lost.

Hakuho wins two in a row tonight for his fourth straight yusho.

  • okapake at 12:09 PM JST - 25th January

Why does Hakuho also keeps sniffing after a match?

Four words for all you doubters:

    THE MAN IS BACK!!!!!!!

Two words for the J-Media who called for Asashoryu's retirement (and everybody who agreed):

    SHUT the YOU-KNOW-WHAT UP!!!!!

    Congratulations, Asashoryu!

And already the English Cmmentators are talking about how "Hakuho will come out more determined than ever". Even when Asashoryu throws Hakuho out of the ring to win the basho, everyone is still all over Hakuho. All I can say is, Asashoryu is the MAN, and is, once again, the #1 Yokozuna and #1 Rikishi in Sumo, and, again, forthe 23rd time, the man to beat in the up-coming March Basho......

Kotooshyu helped many win their kachikoshis. He has amazing charitable character, not like Asashoryu who thinks only about his voctories and never about the poor lower ranks. Well done, Kotooshyu, the handsome Prince of sumo! 10:5 is a great result!
