    Oh great, be prepared for another round of Asa-bashing in the media, or by the Sumo Association. Because this is a private matter, I hope it goes over quietly, but I really doubt it will. Wonder what kind of settlement, if any, there is, and which country's laws they have to abide by.

    From what i understand most sumo wrestlers have arranged marriages with women who are bred from birth to be a sumo man's wife.

    I wonder if this is the case here tho, since it says she was his childhood sweetheart.

    Perhaps the length of time in Japan effected his character enough to make her bolt? Or perhaps she got tired of being on top every time? The physics are a bit disturbing to think about honestly =P

    They divorced on paper a while ago and kept it quiet. The next announcement will be regarding Asa's current fiancee who he will get married to sometime in the near future. Apparently the problems with his first wife may have been to do with her business interests with her mother using Asa's name.
