What a load of rascist claptrap. Asians? And what difference does it make how "old" the sport is in a particular country. football started in England and look how rubbish they are at it. And Rugby.

Don't play golf. Don't like golf. So I am probably out of my element here.

"It's true there's too much gap between there (the West) and here because I don't think we Asian players work enough," Siddikur said.

Seems like a lame argument to try and make. Don't Asian women regularly do well in LPG tour events? Even in major tournaments?

"Looking at the kind of conditions we have in Asia, I would want to see how many Europeans can come and slog their asses out in these kind of conditions," he said.

Also seems lame. Haven't many professional athletes in many different sports had to deal with less than idea conditions during their formative years?

OK.

Why do Asian women do so well in the LPGA tournaments? Do they train in better conditions than then Asian men? Do they receive more support from their governments than Asian men?

or

Do non-Asian female professional golfers take their training less seriously then non-Asian male professional golfers?

Asian women, primarily South Korean but also a handful of Japanese, have won one tournament after the other on the LPGA tour over the past decade or so. The South Korean men have had some success in the U.S., like Yang and Choi to name a couple, but very little from the Japanese.

The men in both countries have been trying for a longer period to do well in the U.S. than the women have, but with entirely different results. Why is this when both sexes have access to the same training and coaching?

@Patrick Hattman

That is a very good question. That is a completely logical question, especially given some of the statements made in this article.
