Further confirmation that Spain is the world benchmark right now

Barcelona were disinterested, lethargic, and pretty average by their standards...yet they still win 4-0. Just shows what a joke this tournament is. Santos are the only challenge for them.

I can't stand FCB and their game.

@USNinJapan2: Seriously. what is there NOT to like about the way Barcelona play? I am not a fan as such of them r but they are without doubt an absolute pleasure to watch - as it stands there is no team at present comparable in the world. Did you watch El Clasico last weekend? Did you watch the CL final vs Manchester United. I can only presume that you actually have no interest in Soccer rather than the way FCB play!

@USNinJapan2 - same here.
One of the best teams in history and probably the most effective player of all time, but completely un-inspirational.. boring in fact.
Santos all the way. They have a realistic chance too, as they're more up for it.

It was Messi night at Yokohama. This guy put on quite a show ... as did his teammates. That's one thing I like about the Toyota Cup ... they always get the best players in the world here to go for the big club prize. Glad the tournament is once again back in Japan.
Next it's Santos vs. Barcelona. That should be a great game as the talented South American teams always give the best European clubs a run for the money.

Messi is now the only footballer my father in-law has heard of.
Of course he pronounces it めし
I convinced him last night that his first name was Yaki.
He later wandered into the living room at about 11pm, holding his keitai to inform me that I was lying and he could no longer trust me... :-)

A real gulf in class between Asia's best team - and Europe's finest. Barca barely got out of second gear yet won easily. I'm certain they would happily give away their win, however, if Villa was fine again. Absolute disaster for the club - I'm sure most of their fans back in Spain are unimpressed they had to travel to the far east for a relatively meaningless tournament and lose one of their key players. They could now potentially risk some silverware in Europe as a result.
I reckon Santos will win the final - the Barca players will be told not to go hard in tackles and risk losing a Messi or an Adriano.

and so am I. I am also a fan of Soccer, you are clearly not. If you were, you would appreciate, if not enjoy the way that Barcelona play football.
