room - Yeah, Italy beat China, and Japan beat Italy, and China beat Japan, but that has nothing to do with the fact that Brazil will beat Japan 3-0 tomorrow. Tee hee!
Why? sarge you don't like Cuban women? btw, chinese player you are refering to is Wang whereas i was focused on Zhaou S.H. tender lady with strong attacking power.
Pukey, I tell you....though I'd love to see those Japanese gals and guys go all the way......the whole volleyball thing is ruled by Japanese commerce. That's why all those final rounds and qualifications are held in Japan. Bought by Japanese broadcasters and their sponsors! I just wonder......how will they perform away from home soil for the first time during the Olympics.
The preview of the Olympics took place already...in the preliminary stages just before this final stage. 3 matches played in each of Japan, HK and Macau. And the result? Japan won 2 of the 3 matches that were played in Japan....and lost ALL away matches. The only saving grace for Japan is that there will be places allotted to African and other minor countries in the Olympics, thus preventing Japan from placing last.
Make that Brazil 3, Japan 0.
Brazil played superbly, and Japan made some seriously dumb mistakes, and Brazil got very lucky a few times. Japan lost the first two sets by 2 points - they might just beat this team next month in Beijing.
Pukey2 - "Japan should have won the match, seeing that it should be easier for lighter women to jump higher"
Following that logic, Thailand should be the #1 team, seeing that they are the shortest and most likely the lightest.

I certainly hope that's not the score tomorrow.

So the near-permanent host of world class volleyball tournaments not only lacks height, but also speed and power. So they are just a poor team.

Yeah, that was one big mama! Japan should have won the match, seeing that it should be easier for lighter women to jump higher.

It's too bad, Japan was once the world's best volleyball team (men's and women's).

I thought that big mama couldn't possibly jump, until I saw her winning much of China's points!

Japan put up a pretty good fight despite a number of mistakes.
