some14some - how gregarious of you. Is there anyone else you'd like to congratulate? Maybe Brown's parents or his best friend from grade 3?

I hope they treat him better than they treated Marty Kuenhert, the guy they hired to be the general manager when they first started out. Then again, given the fans' love of Nomura (totally justified love, mind you), if the team doesn't perfom as well, I imagine it'll be easier for the team to scapegoat the foreign manager than a Japanese manager.

As The Eagles are my local team, I hope Mr. Brown does better than that Katsuya Nomura dud. Eagles to bring home the title in 2010!

Although Mr. Nomura is not what I would consider a good coach, he is far from a dud. After all, he took Rakuten, farther than it has been than say more established teams like Orix, Hiroshima, and Yokohama. Before Nomura, has Rakuten ever made the playoffs? I think not.

Good luck Mr. Brown, or as we called him in Hiroshima, Marty. It was fun while it lasted, and I hope you do well with Rakuten. You must like the color scheme. Nomura, the new coach of Hiroshima (No, not that Nomura), has already started practice to whip the Carp into shape. I think he may hail from Sparta. Hopefully the Carp will meet the Eagles in the Japan Series next year.

He won three titles with Yakult in the 90s. But it's a bit odd to trumpet how much better he's done at Rakuten than anyone else, as he's been the only manager they've had except for the very first year.
