I'm sorry, but I find the Russia/Canada match up to be a more interesting rivalry than Canada/US. The latter can be more intense at times, but I think ultimately going up against Russia just seems more fun -- like way back when it was the USSR and Canada or the US.

While the sports writers in the US make a meal out of the Canada-US rivalry, the real meeting of men is the Canada-Russia rivalry. Sorry America, you're really fun to play against and you are willing to step up and play hard but the main event for Canadian hockey fans will always be playing against Russia.

At which time I clearly stated the problem wasn't Brodeur but Canada's lack of offense- especially poor stick handling and slow skating- so bring on the Germans and...

"The switch hardly mattered as offense-thin Germany had few good scoring chances until the Canadians had a big lead."

But still they scored twice ! If Canada was so dominating- Germany would have been shut out. Sorry Canada, you are going to have to dig deeper than this if you want to beat the Russians ! Ovechkin is a monster- one likely to put Crosby on his duff a few times. This should be fun to watch !

@Branded, I think there is a big difference when Luongo plays. He's got the hometown crowd behind him and calling out 'Luuuuuu' throughout the game. This not only helps him but psyches up the rest of the team. Whoever wins this game will have a legitimate shot at gold.

What the!? Feeding Miller over 40 shots, scoring 8 goals against Germany is a lack of offense? Last time I checked States and Canada were tied with 14 goals for in the preliminary round.

But a 8-2 victory isn't dominating!? If the score was 16-2 it still wouldn't be a dominate victory because they let two goals in? Ugh....

Who cares about Ovie/Crosby. The real battle will be between the pipes with Luongo/Nabokov in a sudden death situation. IMO.

Try "40 weak wristers and awkward backhands"- none of them with much power, cept for Nash's heater late. Miller also had open views of all the shots coming at him as the Canadian frontline couldn't set their lard butts within 5 feet of him- the Americans just worked the shooting lanes free so Miller could see what was coming. These are basics of the game humblecat- it's not how many you throw on net- it's the quality of the shots that's important.

No ! A 2-0 game is dominating ! Shutting out the opponent is dominating !
