and it shouldnt be world champions...

The World Series champion is rarely referred to as "World Champion" these days. So chill.

I am ok with "World Series" - it is baseball romance. Its origin is disputed and nobody is able to verify the newspaper story.

Japan is the Mens Baseball World Champion and will remain so until the 2013 Classic.

Now that's a team of destiny! Left for dead at the beginning of September, 8.5 games behind the last playoff spot, only got in the playoffs on the last day when Atlanta blew a 9th-inning lead then lost in extra innings, won deciding game 1-0 away against heavily-favored Philadelphia, only got home-field advantage in the World Series thanks to archenemy Milwaukee Prince Fielder's HR off WS-opponent Texas ace pitcher Wilson, down 2-3 WS games, down to their last strike not once but twice yet tying both times then winning.............

Y'know who had the same record as St. Louis at the end of the regular season? Boston Red Sox. Worst standing among playoff teams. Yet the BoSox were out while favored to become champions. They must be thinking what could have been............

And they'll continue calling it the World Series. Ever since the days that they truly were the whole world playing major league baseball. It's tradition, and they ain't gonna change tradition just to accommodate the world.

Sometimes, even I like sports when something like this happens. Way to go, Cards!

Well, it does seem odd to call it the World Series. Of course they can call it what they want, no problem at all, but the true 2011 Baseball World Cup champions are...., the Netherlands! How about that.

Too bad Rangers, but great WS. I`ll probably always remember game 6.
