Some of United's play was really sublime in the second half. The Kagawa-Mata-Januzaj trio really clicked. Hernandez is the typical striker taking advantage of the trio's capabilities. Some really impressive stuff.

Hoping for a Liverpool win tonight to set up the Liverpool v City game next weekend. The two best teams to watch in the Premiership.

That was indeed a great performance from United. If anything, the lesson Moyes should have learned yesterday was that combinations of players like Kagawa, Mata, Chicharito, and Januzaz do work well when fielded creatively and correctly, but I doubt the lesson will stick. I'm afraid that as soon as van Persie is fit again he'll go right back to relying on him (with Rooney behind him pushing players like Kagawa and Mata out of their best positions) as a one top striker to win games on individual talent from endless crosses lobbed in from the wings. I can only hope...

And what the hell was that second goal by City? I don't think I've ever seen a goal more obviously off sides. That linesman really ought to be sacked. That match could have very well turned out quite differently had the first half ended one all. Southampton were simply robbed.

Personally, I thought United were woeful, can't see them picking up a point again this season at least till some of the players come back.

How do you figure Heda? United's defense over the last three matches was the best we've seen all season and the four nil result matched the best so far this season. Granted it was a win over Newcastle, but we've certainly done a lot worse against much lesser teams this campaign. And we can't win any of the remaing fixtures without these missing players you speak of? Doesn't make much sense to me...

@Heda I agree. They were terrible last night. Even with those players out, they should've done better than that.

Jimizo, Heda, Okay, so school me, since my understanding of the game is obviously not nearly as deep as yours. Seriously, humor me and tell why our opinions differ so on this match. Or are you trolling me and I'm missing the sarcasm in you posts?

United's defence has been awful over the past few games...

USN when discussing a game featuring two teams called 'United' one should mention which United you are referring to.

@ Heda_Madness ROFL!

Really? That's it? Since when is Newcastle referred to as "United"? That's a new one.

Since 1892 when Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End merged or one could say United. Unlike a certain other team who adapted the name just because they liked it.

Newcastle, despite performances to the contrary, have always been United.
