    now we know why the NZRFU does not select overseas based players. once they leave NZ, they pale in comparison. clearly half the men the used to be.

    Tell that to Troy Flavell or Leon McDonald. The NZRFU will change that policy after seeing a large portion of it's talent pool playing overseas. South Africa has scrapped the same policy already. This classic ALL BLACKS team is over the hill though.

    spudman, Flavell and McDonald were playing in NZ when selected.

    After returning from Japan was my point. Not paling in comparision but improved with their time in Japan

    I think their injuries healed in japan due to the lack of exertion.
