I thought the media, and some posters, bet their tennis pride on Nishikori being fourth in the world by this time this year!
Oh well, maybe next time. An amazing top 20, and an even better top 10.

My tennis pride bet (gracefully conceded) was that he'd be number 4 after the French open, but thanks for showing us your absolute class by referring to it, yet again, and also trying to bring the media into it (???)

fxgai: I've ALWAYS blamed the media for overhyping Nishikori, and then it and people coming up with excuses why their overhyped goals were not met, what happened, etc., the same way I do so because it bothers me they are already claiming 20 Olympic golds for the Tokyo Olympics, with some events not even approved yet!, instead of just saying they hope their players do the best.
I never mentioned you, by the way -- you did. As for that being classy or not, sorry bud, I don't just sweep things under the carpet and hope others won't notice.

Oh yeah, how many other posters have made "tennis pride" bets this year, hmmm?
When did I ever sweep it under the carpet? I conceded I lost the bet (I have noted this fact numerous times subsequently), and you still keep trying to rub my face in it.
I may have lost my tennis pride bet, but you have lost your class (if I grant that you had any to begin with).
