    The land of no alcohol and sand storms - no thanks. Reminiscent of the Salt Lake Games and their odd alcohol consumption rules.

    I doubt it will happen, given that a major international sporting event will be held in the area not long before. Also, the IOC doesn't usually like the potential host nations deciding they wish to hold things at different times, in two different areas, etc. etc. I doubt Doha will go very far in this bid.

    I could make about 20 good jokes about this story, but sadly we all know how touchy these people can be. Good luck to Japan on it's bid for the 2020 Games!
