Dragons rout Giants 9-1 in Central League

Tyrone Woods sparked the offense with a two-run homer in the first inning and Masahiro Yamamoto threw his second complete game of the season, leading the Chunichi Dragons to a 9-1 rout of the Yomiuri Giants on Sunday. Woods drove a 2-1 pitch from Seth Greisinger (12-8) over the right-field wall to give Chunichi a 2-0 lead in the Central League action at Tokyo Dome. Norihiro Nakamura added an RBI single in the third and Masaaki Koike had a solo shot in the fourth.

In the Pacific League, Lotte hammered Orix 9-4 and Nippon Ham beat Seibu 9-3.
