I wish people would stop using 'revival' whenever Man U win a few games. They beat the dross and fold against anyone decent. That's been an almost unchanging pattern this season. The bookies hate Man U this season because they are so predictable.

Feels like we're playing a game of Old Maid and United drew the joker (x2) from Everton and now have to live with it...

Come on, show a bit of loyalty. I'm sure you're not a glory-hunter who'll be supporting Chelsea or City next year, but you're sounding a bit like one. I'm no Utd fan, but I really feel for Moyes.

After forty years following Coventry, I know a bit about miserable loyalty! : (

There are ups and downs in football, if you can take the heat get out of the kitchen glory hunters, ROFL!

'.....deploying Tom Cleverley alongside Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini, but the hosts were behind within a minute.'

Why 'but'? Surely that should be 'and'.

No I'm not, and I know that I'll be supporting United always, but that's also precisely why our current situation pains me so. I feel for Moyes too, but that doesn't mean that I believe he should stay. My sympathy for him as a manager out of his depth has no bearing on what I believe is best for the club. I just don't agree with some that being a loyal supporter and being vocally critical about certain aspects of your club are mutually exclusive. Some United fans may keep mum about their dissatisfaction but I'm not one of them, and if some people here want to call me a glory hunter for speaking my mind about the club I support then so be it. You won't ever find me supporting another PL side so it's meaningless anyway. I've commented repeatedly over this season about what I believe is the problem with David Moyes and his new staff, his tactics, his transfers, his attitude but all I get back are ad hominem attacks. For once I'd love to hear someone defend Moyes and what he's done/does with specifics and convince me that he's not the problem. After all, that's what you're all telling me I should do, to give him time...

I think Man U's decline this season was inevitable no matter who was in charge, although that doesn't mean another manager couldn't have done a better job. Man U's success in the last few seasons was based on Ferguson's brilliance, getting the last out of top quality players like Vidic, Ferdinand Scholes and Giggs and all the ridiculous chopping and changing at Chelsea and Man City. Man U under the Glazers cannot compete in the transfer market and since the days of Giggs, Scholes, Beckham and Neville, they've brought next to nothing through the ranks. Look at the players Ferguson brought in because of a limited budget - the likes of Young and Valencia. Even an ageing van Persie was a short-term fix. Ferguson could not have won the title this year with that squad, stability at City and Chelsea and an improved Liverpool and Arsenal. Any new manager who comes in still has to seriously overhaul that squad.

A glory hunter is a fan of a team who win a lot and in almost all cases has no other reason to support that team. Unlike supporters who support their local team from birth or one from an area they have moved to live in. It's like me supporting Bayern munich now even though i do not live in the country, have no connection etc.. that would make me a right muppet, ROFL!

@USN

As I said, you're clearly not a glory-hunter. Respect, and good luck for the rest of the season....

Thank you lucabrasi. Someone clearly doesn't know what an ad hominem is...

I've just been reading that Ferguson as well as Moyes were getting abused by sections of the Man U crowd. Things turning a bit nasty.

And to think all those glory hunters in the Stretford End aren't even overseas like me...

@USNinJapan2

You are right many come from Surrey, Kent and Sussex, they travel up by train or plane from Gatwick to Manchester and they are the butt of many jokes obviously. Wouldn't expect a person from outside UK to know about that though.

@ffsteve

The craziest MUFC I ever knew was from Hayward's Heath. Don't think he missed a game, home or away, in the five years we lived together. Lunatic, but a real fan.

All clubs have true fans, Man U included. I can remember Man U getting battered at Goodison in the 80s and among those screaming abuse at Ferguson were a group who supported their team to the final whistle. Great fans who deserved the success which came to them. Those same fans are probably still attending at Old Trafford and away ( if they can afford it ).
