Enoki to challenge WBA champion John

TOKYO —

Hiroyuki Enoki will face undefeated WBA featherweight champion Chris John of Indonesia at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall on Oct. 24, Enoki’s Kadoebi Hoseki boxing gym said Friday.

Fourth-ranked Enoki, also undefeated with a 27-0 record including 19 knockouts and two draws, will be taking his first crack at a world title after relinquishing the OPBF featherweight crown he defended four times. ‘‘I will knock him out no matter what. I’m going to the ring with a belief that I can win,’’ the 28-year-old Enoki said. John, also 28, has won 41 of his 42 matches with 22 KOs and a draw.
