Year after year, Ferrari dominated, then year after year McLaren dominated, and then year after year, for four years, Red Bull were absolutely dominant with Vettel. Now Mercedes have dominated for just two years and Christian Horner can't take it.

One team or another makes the effort, excels for a few years and becomes the benchmark, but nothing lasts for ever.

For McLaren-Honda at the back of the grid, the only way now is up.

Dig around behind the scenes. For me there is plenty of stuff going on, and it's all pretty interesting. There are always moaners and whingers around. What crisis?

F1 is a bore.

F1 is going down the drain. Races are getting more boring and boring. Sold out tracks are a rarity, tv audience is decreasing, silly regulations (v6 engine?! v6?! v6?!). Someone needs to kick Bernie out of this mess. It is very sad to see your sport going down the drain

Honda developed their VTEC engines in F1 in the 80s and 90s with McLaren and then unceremoniously got out. Now to catch up with Toyota they are doing it again.

There is the new Formula E in the US, with electric powered vehicles. Some results even got into the papers.

Weirdly and sadly F1 becomes interesting with a few deaths, like in the bad old days. With Schumacher it was more boring when he was winning with Ferrari, but it became interesting when he had his accident, skiing, hitting that tree that jumped into the middle of the road.

F1 is rubbish. There are other motorsports that are way more interesting and way less expensive to run and participate in. and the current crop of drivers are even a pretty characterless bunch.....

Well, I am still watching. Not bored at all.

Toyota has not been in F1 for a very long time - no catching up to do there

Formula E is not a US based series - - there are 10 races in the season - only 2 of which are in the US

Schumacher had already retired from F1 ( for the 2nd time ) when this unfortunate accident happened and did not hit a tree - he hit a ROCK - and a small one at that...

To call that accident - were a sports legend is left an invalid - "interesting" is a sad commentary - I hope that no friend or family member of yours ever suffers such a fate - karma can be fickle....

inshikoku — Wow, you really don't know the facts and, I guess, didn't watch all of Sunday's race because, for aficionados, there was plenty of interest and excitement. I for one am looking forward very much to the rest of the season with the development of the various teams, and especially the potential dual between Mercedes and Ferrari.

Can't say I recall ever watching even a segment of a Formula 1 race. So my opinion on this article... doesn't matter.

I've been an F1 fan for almost 20 years. Like most other sports, it has it's boring moments, but on those occasions where the racing is tight, there's not a better form of entertainment, in my books. I would like to see the teams given more engines to play with during the season, and the return of refueling, but otherwise I'm OK with the state of affairs. I'm patient, I can wait for McLaren/Honda to improve. Competitive racing isn't everything, or else I'd be watching Nascar.

Formula One is finished.
