The JRFU is scheduled to hold a board meeting on Saturday to review the Brave Blossoms’ coaching structure.

Change the name for a start, cherry blossoms are soft delicate things that fall down in the slightest breeze. How can a plant have courage? Silly name! How about " Red Whalers" or "AkaOshiza" the red bulls.Sponsorship deal already made. Good luck Eddie.

I hope eddie gets the job as it seems he is the most suitable person around unless the JRFU has some one else in line , maybe they are looking at the former S.A. coach. Who knows what their plan is, they really need some form of development manager for the whole union here, right from the uong kids, through university teams, compnay teams to the national team.

Jones is a special for the Blossoms job. I agree with Eddie that the hapless Deans should be ousted from the Wallaby set-up - and it should be Eddie himself leading his own national team!

Some searches turn up some interesting info on him

In 2005, the Wallabies lost seven straight games and at the end of the Wallabies European tour had lost eight of their last nine matches. On 2 December 2005 whilst having two more years left on his contract was terminated as the Wallabies head coach.

Didn't realy deserve being dropped but.................

His win-loss ratio is the lowest of any Wallabies coach.

    Prior to Dingo Deans.

Maybe he isnt such a great coach but there seems to be a real shortage of top coaches at the moment. Graham Henry could be looking for a job i hear though.

And eddie jones will never coach the wannabies again after his treatment by the aus union.

At the risk of a few thumbs down, I am going to suggest that one way to potentially improve Japanese Rugby would be by banning American Football (the one where in they throw the ball forwards....). Force all Japanese American Footy players into rugby teams, spend a year on their fitness, another year teaching to pass back, kick forwards, and in two years time the player bass would have doubled, and that can't be a bad thing. Also, as no-one outside North America really has any idea about what American Footy is all about, the sport is unlikely to be missed by many.

Doesnt matter so much about eddie being a great coach or not..youd like to think he'd be utilizing guys like the Georges (Gregan and Smith) as skills co-ordinators..getting the great Jonah and Richie McC to instil bravery in their blossoms ,Mehrtens or Carlos up here tactically coaching..hes not going to do it alone he needs a team, the best he can afford to mould his proteges into a mini Walla-black !!(heart of the wallaby and skill of the black ??)

    Haha Walla-Blacks what a name !

I always like Eddie Jones as the aussie coach reagrdless of his win loss record there was something about him that the previous coaches and those after him didnt seem to have, but I still cant put my finger on what it was.

Maybe it was his win loss record dunno, or maybe its just his nature that made him likeable.

Regardless I think with his experience and his contacts plus he is half Japanese he is probably the perfect fit for the japan coach and if he gets the job i will wish him luck and i'll support the japan team everytime they play.
