Formula One is nearly finished. FIA never should mix up Motor Sport and Green issue. Some of Green technology in Formula One is expensive and it cost hurt to small budget teams. Also drivers' talent are relying on car. Energy Recovery System (KERS) is too costly for team and with DRS, very easy to over taken for drivers who are driving for big budget teams.

Since Jean Toadt becoming president of FAI, Formula One is going wrong direction and the organization ignored what Motor Sport (F1) fans wanted to see. FAI is arrogant and idiot. Now regular Fans are turning away from Formula One and following other Motor Sports like Moto GP, NASCAR, WEC, Indy and GP2 racing.

Goodbye to F1.

Formula One is nearly finished.

Formula 1 is far from finished. It is still wildly popular in most of the world. The core teams will always carry the sport while the fringe teams come and go (see Caterham and Marussia). It's true that costs are too high. I imagine that has always been the case for all but the core teams. Living on the bleeding edge of technology is always expensive.

As for building up popularity in the U.S., that's going to be tough. The European races start at 8:00 am in the eastern U.S., at 5:00 am in the west. The Asian races start in the middle of the night in the east and late on Saturday in the west. The only races Americans get to see in the middle of the day are Brazil, Canada, and the U.S. race.

While the Texas circuit is very nice, I think the only race that would really capture Americans' (and the world's) attention would be a street race in New York City. I don't know how in the world they would pull it off, but that would become the greatest racing event on the calendar. They're trying to do a race across the river from the city in northern New Jersey, but it wouldn't be the same.
