Setoyama is an idiot. Bobby's not too expensive, he doesn't want Bobby around because when people think "Chiba Lotte Marines" they think "Bobby Valentine" not "Ryuzo Setoyama".

They gave Bobby a "Contract for Life" a while back, which apparently means "as long as we feel like it". Now they write memos talking about their "ungrateful fans" and how they should move the team elsewhere if the fans aren't appreciative.

There's only a few people in Japan who don't see the value of Bobby to Chiba Lotte and NPB, and unfortunately they're all running the Marines.
