It's a no brainer innit. 2018 in England, football caomes home to the motherland like.
We have the besest stadiums. Go to West Ham and see the pride of a British stadium, marvelous. The other countries should withdraw their bids.
Strewth, we know how to hold a competition, have the best pubs, best knees up and decent grub taht don't give you the two bob bits.
Granted, we aint won it for yonks, but if we hold it its an omen, England shall triumph again!

AlfGarnett- The requisite is that they need 12 stadiums that have a minimum, 40,000 capacity. Last time I looked Upton park can't hold that many. From a historical point of view 'Old Trafford' or 'Celtic Park' have to be two of the finest stadia in Britain as they have never moved location and yet hold a vast swath of spectators. And when they say England for the world cup, I'm sure the 'Millennium Stadium' in Cardiff will be used too, making the occasion a unified British event would it not!! Nevertheless, I would fly back home for 2018, should we get the world cup. Bring on the Germans - Penalties, Semi-final!!!!

whitepocky: as a Hammers fan myself I could see that Alf was joking about Upton Park. Anyway, NO Welsh or Scottish (or NI) grounds will be included in England's bid because 1 - it's ENGLAND'S bid, not the UK's - 2: England has more than the necessary number of suitable stadia - 3: Wales, Scotland and NI traditionally bid for their own tournaments and 4: Wales, Scotland and NI want no co-operation at all with England on international events. That's why they refuse to contribute to a GB Olympic football team.

England is the logical and emotional choice. Home of the best stadia and the best league in the world, oh, and the home of football, too.

But not to our dear friends at UEFA and FIFA. Try telling that to Monsieur Platini!!

Too true whitepocky - Platini still blames us as a nation for Heysel and it clouds his every dealing with the FA. Great player, bad president.
Jack "Nobody in Europe likes England" Warner will also have a big say in the outcome - God help us all!
