It seems that many pictures and videos as evidence are so clear that he displayed the political sign there whatever.

Where Park planned this or not is irrelevant -- and would be impossible to prove at this point anyway . ....................... He has FREE WILL - and he** CHOSE **at that time to pick it up and run with it....................

MOREOVER . .. problematic ( and what casts doubt over the arguement that this was not planned ) Is : (1) he was lauded by So Korean people and press for his "heroism" at home - and accepted th accolades.. . . . .. (2) he NEVER formally apologized to Japan and to Olympic Committe for his alleged 'mistake'.

@semperfi Add to that the free ride he got for pulling such a stunt: a waiver from fulfilling his military duty. To do such a thing at an international event, and at the Olympics no less, is taking lack of sportsmanship and goodwill to another level. Just shows you that he and all the koreans who supported and even lauded his act are a bunch of insecure, classless morons.

genjuro - You make valid point.............................. If you go back to the Mexico Olympics at the medal reception ceremony 2 Americans (Gold & Silver) made the Black Power salut , and the Australian (bronze medalist) wore a civil rights slogan as a sign of his support . . . . .**The Government of the 2 countries strongly reprimanded their players - and along with the notoriety in the piublic eye - they lost sports endorsements **............... Unlike the Korean response: there were no kudos for these players. . . . .. .The Korean response is very telling.

If S Koreans think that way, they would surely do it again, as long as they think any act of patriotism is absolutely right.

Ironic thing is that in South Korea he was hailed as a patriot but he also got to get out of having to serve in Korea's mandatory military service for males too. Either he volunteers or he's just another hypocrite.
