FIFA to choose 2022 World Cup dates, start 2026 bid talks

I think there is a good chance it will return to the USA in 2026. And with good reason: American football stadiums are increasingly designed so only minor tweaks are needed to put in an FIFA-certified association football pitch. Imagine being able to watch World Cup games at truly modern stadiums for every game.

Now we have established that precedent of a Winter World Cup, how about somewhere like Iceland or Canada for 2026?

Let's just skip all the pretense and put the 2026 World Cup on ebay. It'll go to the country with the deepest pockets anyway, so this will just save everyone a lot of time and effort, and we'll end up with the same result.
