Qualifying was fine the way it was, in my humble opinion. If all the drivers have opposed these changes, why are they brought in with immediate effect? With drivers being eliminated, they will get to save their tires/tyres, whereas the ones running to the checkered flag will have a worn-out set which by then will be slower anyway and unable to set a fast time.

The halo thing doesn't look too bad to my eye, and in many cases it would give extra protection, but bringing up Jules Bianchi is plain wrong, as everoney agrees it would not have saved him in that particular type of crash in Suzuka. Even his father recognizes this.

As far as I concern about Formula One direction under Jean Todt's leadership it has lost direction and identity of Formula One motor sport. Jean Todt can't turn around current misfortune by just changing with new qualifying format. F1 fans are losing interest and patience with weaker engine and advance technology. F1 fans want powerful V8 or V10 engine and they do not want Hybrid technology in Motor Sport. The FIA should remove ERS or KER system from Formula One car and put back powerful V8 or V10 Engine. Motor sport is not laboratory to test technology. Motor Sport is competition between driver vs. driver and machine vs. machine but not by assisting of technology. New qualifying format will only give disappointment for F1 fans and F1 drivers.
