Good luck to Shingo Katayama--his game has been up and down, but he showed well today!
Ryo Ishikawa also played a respectable round for a first-timer, finishing right up there with McIlroy and Lee, who were both expected to end up well ahead of him (most of the experts were expetecting Ishikawa to "miss the cut with room to spare). He had as many bogies as he did birdies, and is certainly not in contention for anything, but the rare good conditions on the course gave him a needed lift.
