Not the result everyone was hoping for but a reasonably exciting game all around, I suppose.

Hayashi's pitches to Omichi were too high and the wild pitch that got Matsumoto to 3rd base was what really killed it. Inaba having an off night didn't help matters much.

I guess this means Darvish will be pitching on Saturday. Hope he doesn't do himself a serious injury.

Shoulda kept Fujii in instead of bringing in the reliefs.

Can't believe Omichi can hit the ball holding the bat so short.

I bet we'll see Darvish in the next game - the question is whether they'll pitch him from the start, or pitch another guy until he gives up a couple of runs and then bring in Darvish.

    Kuso Giants!

Painful loss for Ham. Oh well, back to Sapporo for the finale!

This. I didn't understand that at all. No need to fuss with the pen in such a critical game when your starter is still going strong. He had only given up 4 hits in 7 innings, had only thrown 85 pitches, and your in a 1-0 game. Why chance it? Stay with the hot hand.

I worry about Nashida's thinking sometimes.

I don't get baseball at all, but clearly this was not the result the friends of the underdogs wanted.

Was an exciting game, hope the Ham can pull it out in Sapporo.

Were the post-match interviews broadcast in their entirety on TV before cutting off? Curious to know since I saw here yesterday that when Fighters won the broadcast was cut before the interviews were finished.

^^^ of course they were shown. They broadcasted at least 15 min after the game ended.
