Lincoln - I'm sure they've already kissed and made up.

I would be a fan of Hakuho but he is not sexy. but I admit his skills.

  • Sarge at 11:54 AM JST - 22nd July

Somehow Hakuho reminds me of Jack Palance. Maybe it's his nose...

I like Kotooshu but I hope he loses so PrinceskaNo1 is disappointed. It's always nice to see people miss out on things they desperately want.

Wow! I just realised that's the exact definition of schadenfreude!

Kotooshyu dream of being yokuzuna will be just that, a dream His sumo is not constant enough

  • Zen_Builder at 03:50 PM JST - 22nd July

I agree, as an Ozeki he needs keep a winning score to remain his status.

To become a Yokozuna he needs to win 2 consecutive tourneys in a row and being considered of having a solid winning record. Right now he is NOT likely up for promotion.

Yeah, I know Yokozuna can't be demoted but if their winning score falls short they are expected to resign. In short if you can't get a majority win score as a yokozuna you are a goner.

Basically an Ozeki can hold on but if you are a yokozuna you either win or quit.

    My solid-as-a-rock picks for today...

Kotooshu looks like he is going to cry before the bout, but manages to beat Wakanosato in an ugly fashion, and also manages to reveal some more of his psycho side

Chiyotaikai does his shoving thing again

    Kaio rolls over Futenho

Ama versus Kotomitsuki.........Ama to exhibit some more genius

Hakuho defeats Kotoshogiku in another no contest

  • Zen_Builder at 04:02 PM JST - 22nd July

Not sure about Kotooshu's fight today.

But I think when Kotooshu faces Hakuho(before friday) he will get his butt handed to him. Why before friday, sat/sun will be reserved for guys close to Hakuho that could(possibly) beat him. i.e. within 2 or losses to Hakuho.

Ama might take another loss today.

Myself wanted another show-down between Asa and Hakuho.

man, kotooshu just wasted some elephant. nearly pushed him of the face of the planet. looked good.

  • hikikomori08 at 06:04 PM JST - 22nd July

Well my remarks concerning Kotooshu were right on the money, but the rest of my inside tips were average and not worth the money I paid for them.

Chiyotaikai indeed did his shoving thing again, but that all fell apart when Tochinonada changed momentum, and that's pretty much all you have to do to beat Chiyotaikai - change momentum. Cos he's not a wrestler, just a bulldozer (and former bosozoku).

Kaio wanted to sit and lie down on Futenho when the latter collapsed in his own patheticness. Good to see Kaio performing at a level appropriate to his rank.

Ama was a bit disappointing. That's two days in a row he's gone for the head and two days in a row he's lost. Slight slip-up and it was all over. Shame.

And Hakuho versus Kotoshogiku was actually a contest at some point. But the Mongolian came through and now has only to beat Kotomitsuki to put himself 3 wins ahead of the field, and really make Kotooshu cry over his lost opportunity.

Wow, Kotooshyu won! You all speak so fervently against him that you brainwashed me and made me believe he is going to lose but yes he won! I will never listen to you again.

Princess - Kotooshyu is going to win the rest of his matches this basho, including his match with Hakuho, and Romulus is going to buy me dinner at the Hilton.

  • ExPrinceska at 09:16 PM JST - 27th July

Have a nice dinner, Romulus and Sarge.

  • Sarge at 09:23 PM JST - 27th July

    Again, congrats to Hakuho.

  • ExPrinceska at 09:29 PM JST - 27th July

Hakuho is a happy man tonight but Romulus is happier I think.
