What is this latest thing of sportspeople "dedicating" any win to someone or something? What has Ali to do with racing? Or Hamilton?

and what it this tripe? He was thinking of Ali while driving?

“I never really dedicate wins to anyone, but it’s someone that’s really inspired me so much throughout my life,” Hamilton said. “I was driving, and I was just thinking of him, and thinking maybe he would be watching the race, I don’t know. So that’s to him and his family. Rest in peace.”

What has Ali to do with racing? Or Hamilton?

Muhammed Ali paved the way for future generations of young black men to be able to succeed in sport without experiencing prejudice. Ali experienced prejudice firsthand and used his fame to break down those barriers. Lewis Hamilton is a young Black British F1 star who no doubt was inspired by Ali. When Spanish F1 "fans" blacked themselves up to racially taunt Hamilton it would have been our education from people such as Ali who gave us our current mindset that this racism is totally unacceptable.

Did Hamilton experience prejudice? Has he named Ali as an inspiration before? What does "dedicating" a race win actually mean? and what about the nonsense of thinking of him and ali watching the race? Was ali a race fan?

F1 is so boring now.

I have no doubt Ali is proud of you, Lewis. Keep flying around those corners and winning those races!

Did Hamilton experience prejudice?

And I repeat what I had already posted. Between 2008 and 2009 Hamilton was racially abused repeatedly at the Spanish grand prix by supporters of rival Fernando Alonso. In one instance blacking themselves up and holding a placard saying they were Hamilton's family. This led to threats of cancelling the Spanish grand prix from the season. You call it prejudice, I call it racism.
