I'm not sure what I hate more, the Hanshin Tigers winning, or them losing. When they win, it's all I hear about; people who hate baseball are all pushing each other aside to hop on the bandwagon and declare how big of a Tigers fan they are. When the Tigers are losing, I blessedly don't have to hear a thing about it, because in Japan it's a rule to suddenly forget about and never listen to mention of someone/something losing (classic example is the Olympics. Now everyone and their dog loves swimming, and a whole lot of Japanese are suddenly fencing fans... though yesterday they had no idea what it was. Meanwhile, whatever happened to little star Aiko-chan?). BUT, while the silence can be truly golden, when I finally bother to ask how the team is doing, the people who all 'loved the Tigers more than life' before the Olympics and even up to two weeks ago no utterly hate them with a vengeance.

I suppose I shouldn't say I don't know which I like/dislike more... the Tigers are playing regardless... I should just flat out say I hate the people who are only fans when someone is winning, and turn away when they are not.
