Real fighting spirit from Kei, winning the third set after being down 5-2! That sort of mental fortitude is a valuable attribute.

Well done Mr.Nishikori - equalling his best result in a major is great, but would be good to see him get to the Quarters. Maybe I'm a dreamer, but it would be nostalgic to see a non "power player" - who doesn't make 30 aces a match - go deep into the 2nd week. Well done to the Chinese ladies too - another Chinese triumph in a Slam is not out of the question - they are superb tennis players now. And great job by old Aussie veteran Hewitt to get to 4th round as a wildcard - will be a tough ask to get past Djokovic next though. This Open is Djokevic's to lose.

Next up for Kei is another frenchman by the name of Tsonga,lets see how he does against someone in the top 10..

Tsonga is hot and cold. Kei will have to match his power, and with any luck catch him off his peak. When Tsonga is on songa he's pretty hard to stop. These ATP points will probably give Kei a new personal best ATP ranking. Top 10 for Kei in 2012, ganbare!!
