Great to see Hiyama doing the after game "Hero Interview". It's his 17th year at Hanshin I believe, I know he was playing when I started watching Hanshin in 1993. A great consolation for the fans who turned up hoping to see Aniki get his 2000th hit.

Shame on J-Television. Last night 43,000 people packed Koshien stadium to watch 1st and 2nd placed Hanshin and Chunichi battle it out in the newly renovated stadium, yet free to view TV instead chose to show Yomiuri vs Yokahama, both teams are currently equal last on the table. I switched over during a break in the Hanshin game to see Yokohama stadium was half empty. There was also at lot of interest in the Hanshin game because Kanemoto is sitting on 1999 hits of course. Over the last 10 years Yomiuri have lost there dominance of the Central league, and Chunichi and Hanshin have been performed consistently, Chunichi especially, yet we still have to watch Hara and his chumps play every night.

Looks like Rakuten are slipping back down to their usual spot, after winning 7 in a row they have now lost the last 4, and games that they could have won too. Last night they were up 7 nill in 2nd, yet lost 8-7.
