Ichiro is happy in his own world has nothing to do with MLB or NPB play, little advertisement is necessary and for that he is a good character.

Like the other Japanese players, Ichiro does not speak English, so I doubt he would be able to talk his way on to another team. Brilliant player. Love watching him.

Actually, Ichiro speaks decent English, in private and on the field. Most American League All-Star Game players have stated that Ichiro's pre-game pep-talk in the locker room is one of the highlights of the game.

Shigetoshi Hasegawa was also a good example of a Japanese player who spoke good English.
