It's the national system's fault, first and foremost. Until they can accept that and resolve that issue, this is a problem that they have to face head-on.

The AFP didn't omit anything - the nationalities of the athletes involved in the 45 new cases are yet to be revealed, with the IOC currently undertaking the process of informing their respective international associations.

(If anybody has information on the nationalities of those athletes, please post the link here so we could all know.)

In all honesty Joeintokyo Russian athletes will be sorely missed, maybe a compromise will be found that so called clean competitors can relish the event.

I am not holding my breath though President Putin is the the very definition of the archetypal pantomime villain and in all honestly relishes the boos and hisses so fits the bill. However that is no consolation to the Russian athletes that have spent years of hard graft preparing for Rio.

Russian whining is deafening... ignoring the fact that the reason they're in the hot seat is that Russia orchestrated state-sponsored doping cover-up nothing like a few athletes here and there who are as, would be expected, part of anti-doping investigations.
