Of course he would say that to try to get some people thinking it will be a success. I was at the game and everyone i spoke to after the game said it wasn't that good. It will be difficult to get people to like rugby if that is what every game is like. a very boring spectacle.
In any case, it is a very good match between this teams...
I didn't saw this game, and I'm don't agree - it's interesting match. Do you have a link for this video? I must to see! ;-)
ihavearrived;both your posts about this game are so inaccurate that I find it hard to believe you went to it. (a) most of the crowd wasn't Aussies and Kiwi's. (b) that wasn't a boring game, both teams tried to run the ball with free flowing rugby, plenty of air given to the ball and some wonderful skills on display. Will it attract lots of people to the game? doubtful given the Japanese JHS club system.

The worst thing about the night was that the entire stadium ran out of beer just after half time. Obiviously didn't think that Aussies and Kiwis could drink so much. They will need to fix that for the World Cup.
As for the game: the first half was ok, but the second half petered out when the ABs controlled the the game.
I was at the game too, "ihavearrived", and I totally disagree with you. It was a great atmosphere and a very enjoyable evening. However, I do agree with "sasukene" that the 1st half was much better than the second half. I believe that was mainly due to the referee. There were far too many penalties. If after the first few the ref had spoken to both captains and said that the next ones were going to be yellow cards, then it would have stopped all the crap that was going on, especially the Wallabies diving in off their feet at almost every ruck just killed the game.
The build-up to the start of the game (both in Roppongi bars & outside the stadium) was great, but the stadium itself wasn`t very fan-friendly. Any stadium with a running track around the field is terrible for spectators. The stands are too far from the field, so the players look like ants.
