Ishikawa and Ogilvy beaten as U.S. takes Presidents Cup lead

SAN FRANCISCO —

Ryo Ishikawa and Australian Geoff Ogilvy were defeated 6 and 4 by Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker as the United States took a one-point lead over the International team on the opening day of the Presidents Cup on Thursday.

Woods and Stricker built a comfortable lead after knocking down five birdies in the first nine holes. They moved to 5-up after Ogilvy bogeyed the 10th and Woods closed out the match with a 15-footer for birdie on the 14th. The United States finished the opening-day foursomes with 3.5 points to the 2.5 of the International team at the Ryder Cup style event at Harding Park Golf Course.

Yappari. Ishikawa and the internationals can't compete with the Americans.

In sports, it is about results not potential. Is he the next Tiger? well let him win a major first and then we can talk. Better yet a PGA event.
