ORLANDO —
Japanese teenager Ryo Ishikawa missed the cut by two strokes but countryman Ryuji Imada moved into a tie for third after the second round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Friday. Ishikawa shot a 1-over 71 for a two-round total of 7-over 147 in his third tournament on the U.S. PGA Tour before heading into the Masters Tournament from April 9-12.
‘‘I shot 1-over in pretty tough conditions, so it’s a plus for my career. As for distance control, today was my best round in the United States,’’ Ishikawa said. Imada found himself four shots behind leader Sean O’Hair after making seven birdies and three bogeys in a round of 66. First-round leader Jason Gore is three strokes off the lead, while Tiger Woods is five shots back in fifth.

Is JT going to follow suit with all the Japanese media and constantly keep us up to date on ALL of the failures of "popular" Japanese athletes?
Remember the seemingly endless headlines on Takahashi finishing 29th (or whereever) in all those marathons?
Anyway, why isn't the headline "Imada tied for third"?

One reason is that most Japanese know nothing about Ryuji Imada because he moved to the U.S. as a middle school student and learned to play the game the American way with superior technique.

Based on his two outings in the PGA, this kid had better pack light for Agusta. He'll be back there in Japan before the final round begins.
