TOKYO —
Popular 16-year-old Ryo Ishikawa will play in the final qualifying tournament in Japan for the U.S. Open, according to a list released Thursday by the Japan Golf Association. Taichi Teshima, Hideto Tanihara and Toshimitsu Izawa are also among 15 players to feature in the 36-hole strokeplay event to be held at Ibaraki Country Club in Osaka Prefecture on May 26.
The number of players who will earn berths for the June 12-15 U.S. Open from the regional qualifier has yet to be decided. Last year, Toru Taniguchi, Kaname Yokoo and Nobuhiro Masuda advanced from the final qualifier.
