i am going to say that the players will tune her out by mid-season. sorry, but a female coach for a male basketball team will not work.

Well, this is certainly an interesting development of the BJ League. In seriousness, good on her - if you have the skill and coaching ability, gender shouldnt be an issue.

Current coach of the New England Patriots, Bill Billichick, was originally dismissed as an outsider by players because he was not a player himself. However his intellectual approach to the game eventually won over the players and he is now the owner of three Super Bowl trophies. No doubt that Nakase will be dismissed because she is a woman but if given a chance she may succeed. Whereas male athletes tend to simply use force and try to simply overpower their opponents, female athletes tend to be more intellectual and rely on technique and strategy. This could be a great moment for sports.

How can she coach and be expected to serve green tea at the same time?

Natalie is gonna be a great addition to that team. She has extensive basketball knowledge and as long as the players can put her gender aside, she will do just fine. This is definitely a good moment in the BJ League and I hope that the Saitama Bronco's management does not set her up to fail, and give her the support they would give any other head coach.
