    Japan has been given a place in the final round as a wild card.

    Yes, if you can't host the tournament, then get a wild card. That's how you manage to participate, not through winning qualifying rounds.

    I do not understant how the most unsuccessful and weakest team in the world league (last place) gets the wild card. They are really pouring money in the volleyball, the Japanese.

    yeah, and both the men's and women's teams get free tickets to the finals of several tournaments because they are almost always the host (of the finals).
