Oh-boy, This is gonna be on TV all week. Every single body movement of the Japanese players will be played in slow motion then paused and analyzed for its superiority.

darvish getting yanked in the second inning doesn't bode well for his confidence (or the teams confidence in him for that matter). he ran into control problems against aussie batting? what happens when they face the dominicans, cubans, south koreans and americans? never mind how he screwed up in the first game of the olympics. face it, he's perhaps weak under (international) pressure and may be a dead weight.

I saw the 15-minute recap on TV, in which they managed to show all kinds of highlights without a single Australian player's name even being uttered. That was a pretty amazing feat, even by J-media standards. Now reading this report, I've finally learned the name of the Aussie manager and one of the players.

I keep forgetting that Australia has a baseball team. The only time I can ever remember seeing baseball on television was one match during the Beijing Olympics.
