American motor racing in general and the IndyCar category in particular is good to watch if you're having trouble sleeping - cars going round and round in circles is quite soporific.

Cars going round and round three abreast at over 200 MPH bumping and grinding all the way is a lot more exciting than watching airplane fusilages with wheels going single file through corners at 50 MPH.

But is the trip profitable? Sounds extremely expensive to ship all those people and equipment.

Techall's got the right idea, but don't expect to sway any of the haters with inconvenient, though obvious, observations.
If it were making less money than any of the American dates (not counting any Honda financial assistance), it would disappear from the calendar in a flash. I think the real question is just how much does Honda have to put up each year for its home showcase? I can't imagine it would throw an unlimited amount of money at the event, so any profit shortfalls for the race must not be too bad.
