Ah, another high scoring soccer game. Must have been so exciting to watch people pass the ball around for 90 minutes.

Japan was undoubtedly using their characteristic "pass the ball when you get in front of the net" technique....

Then the Japanese team was nationalized by Hugo Chavez, so Venezuela wins by default.

"Japan had the better of the scoring chances and controlled the play throughout the match but was never able to make its superiority pay."
Says it all to me; Japan is renowned for passing the ball when they have excellent scoring chances instead of taking a shot. That is why they'll never be taken seriously in the sport, and heretofore never advance beyond the first round until they DO decide to start shooting.

Nah, this is part of Okada-sensei's cunning plan. Having won the group against lowly European and African opposition, Japan's next round and quarter-final will most likely be against Paraguay and then Brazil. In order to fulfill the stated aim of getting to the semi-final, Japan will probably have to play for draws in those games, and get through on the penalty shoot out. The lack of apparent preparation will no doubt lull those footballing "superpowers" into a false sense of security. Banzai!

You just have to love an exciting nil-all draw. Sounds like it was a thrill a second.
