Japanese Grand Prix braced for typhoon chaos

Then why they have this race, during Typhoon season?

The hype is more powerful than the typhoon most of the time.

Phanfone? where did that name come from? Hope this doesn't disrupt flights out of tokyo.

Looking at the forecast it seems that Suzuka will be catching the leading edge on Sunday so it will be wet and windy but worse on Monday so, we might still have a race. Flights out of Tokyo may be affected on Monday.

The race itself will probably be fine, even if wet.

It's the next day that the organizers are worried about, ie getting packed up and sent off in good time for the Russian GP the following weekend.
